Buzz has spent his life making dreams come true.

He made our dreams come true when he was born. His mother was a beautiful, talented mare whose reining career was cut short by an injury. His sire was our first stallion Fintry Little Tom. Most everyone has big dreams for their first stallion. This little bay colt was everything we hoped for. He was only a few months old when he met the next person whose dreams he was to work hard to make come true.

Kathy Francis cares for her horses like no other horsewoman. Buzz gives back about the same. To this day if you ask he tries. Her care and training (under the guidance of the Grimshaws) prepared Buzz to become QHAA High Point Amateur Reining Horse. A nice accomplishment for both of them. All the while Kathy enjoyed another dream, one most all of us have I think - that of riding a horse you really trust and enjoy on the backcountry trails of our beautiful westcountry. Kathy lives in the mountains. She and Buzz shared many hours in the wilderness and with friends on the trails. As Buzz got into his teen years, Kathy decided it would be best for him if he moved to an area where the ground is softer and the hills are less steep. That describes Moose Creek Ranch. We are forever grateful he ended up back here.

He made my dreams come true just by letting me "feel" what a well trained reining horse feels like. I had felt it on his mother but there were quite a few years in between and those maneuvers are all quite a thrill when they do it for you and you know damned well you don't even really know how to ask properly. LOL We don't ask for spins or sliding stops any more.

Buzz taught one of our grandsons to ride. What kid doesn't dream of having a horse you can chase cows on or go on a poker rally? It was while watching our grandson ride Buzz that Dave decided he might have to give him a try as he had been shopping for a new saddle horse.

He has become Dave's favorite horse. This means he goes for walks for up to a couple of hours sometimes with Dave on his back. There would be a break in the middle of a long ride like that of course. Dave doesn't ride a lot but likes to go check out the beaver dam & agrees it is a nice way to check fence lines for fallen trees. We even go for rides in Ya Ha or Cutoff Creek most years. Buzz loves going to the hills. I think it is the manger of hay and the "extras" a trip like that gets him that makes him like it but he still walks along with his ears pricked forward and makes my young horse jog to keep up especially when he knows he is heading back to camp LOL.

It is still his back the kids' saddle gets strapped to whenever they come to visit. He hasn't let one fall off yet. It is a privilege to get to have a horse like Buzz around.

And... he still reminds me of old Tom.
