In the winter of 1998 Jessica Dell still was galloping along behind the truck at feeding time. Excellent feet and legs and disposition.

One of the privledges of being old, is having known some of these mares during a time that the jobs for horses were changing from working in the fields, gathering and working cattle and carrying kids to school to more of the focus being on riding horses for pleasure, showing and competition. It has been interesting watching what characteristics we have encouraged and which we have given up. Both overall and in each individual activity. But most all of it came from mares like this, some good ranch stallions and some thoroughbreds.
